‘Outside In’: An exhibition by Gina O’Connor
Clare Arts Office in conjunction with Scarriff Library Gallery is delighted to present ‘Outside In’, a wonderful exhibition by Limerick-born artist Gina O’Connor.
Venue: Scarriff Library Gallery, Scarriff, Co. Clare
Date: 24th August to 16th September 2022
Gina divides her time between Limerick and West Clare. While Gina is mostly self-taught, she has also completed art courses in TUS (LCAD) and LCFE. Gina has exhibited in many galleries including Draíoctht (Adare), The Bridge (Ballina/Killaloe) and Hare’s Corner (Limerick).
Gina is inspired by the nurturing beauty of the West of Ireland and draws on her experiences of being in nature on foot, on bike and swimming in the sea. Her exhibition, ‘Outside In’, is a reflection of these experiences.
Gina works mainly in oils with palette knife and brush in a semi-abstract style. Gina loves to experiment and is often surprised by the interesting and colourful faces, figures and features that emerge from her explorative journeys on canvas. Atmosphere, emotion, and motion are central to her work. Gina describes her experience of painting as an “urgent outburst of expression”.
This free exhibition runs from 24th August to 16th September 2022, and everyone is welcome.
